Auto-Train operated special trains
between the Washington DC, area and
near Walt Disney World in Florida, from
1971 to 1981. The train consisted of some
of the finest equipment ever built. Every
coach was a dome from Santa Fe, UP or
WP. Sleepers and diners came from ACL,
SAL, L&N, N&W, and others. CN bi-level
auto carriers, carried passengers’ cars in
enclosed safety. Each train included a steam
generator car and, in later years, a caboose.
A second route was added between Louisville, Kentucky and Florida. The Coach Yard
is offering the auto-train basic Florida and Midwest consists plus a number of additional cars, FACTORY pro-finished: lettered and painted per prototype in HO scale.
